Fabric quality
Before you even check if it's linen, cotton, polyester or nylon, feel it against your skin and feel if the quality is good. The fabric must be free from stains, especially those related to dyes, prints, lint, tears, etc. The quality has to be perfect because if the fabric has flaws, you will definitely have clothes that represent those flaws in the fabric.
Fabric type
Substances are mainly categorized as natural, synthetic, or a mixture of both. Good examples of natural dress material fabrics are cotton, linen, denim, leather, silk. Synthetic fabrics such as polyester, viscose, spandex, DTY fabric, acrylic, nylon and so on. Fabrics with a blend of natural and synthetic fibres are also ideal for making clothes, as long as they are in perfect condition. So ask yourself if you want to buy natural, synthetic, or fabrics that are a combination of the two. Natural fabrics tend to be more expensive than synthetic fabrics, so your budget also plays a role.
colour fastness
When you inspect your fabric, make sure it is evenly coloured with no smudges or streaks. Examine the fabric carefully and look for signs of uneven staining. If you accidentally notice areas of colour fading, especially along the crease line, consider switching to another fabric. If you see bright colours in some places on the fabric, unless it's a fabric design, don't buy it as this is a sign that the colour is fading when you wash the fabric. If you need to test it, use a damp white cloth or cotton ball and rub it on a small area of the cloth. If colour appears on the towels or cotton, the quality of the fabric is not good.
Suitability For Event
When you buy fabric, you may be referring to several types of clothing and then you need to know the suitability of the fabric. For example, you can't make woollen swimsuits or cotton sportswear or baby clothes out of polyester. When choosing a fabric, think about the occasion and where it will be worn. Waves will not occur in the desert and chiffon is definitely not suitable for visiting cold mountainous areas. The cotton fabric would be ideal for summer wear as it is ideal for cooling the skin.
Shrinkage
When choosing your fabric, you need to consider the shrinkage factor. You need to know if the fabric will shrink after washing. Each network shrinks differently. To be safe, add 10% fabric. If you can think of a pre-wrinkled fabric that won't cause you any problems. Prepackaged fabrics have labels like "Sanforized", "Mercerized", etc.
colour
The colour of the fabric is very important, especially when choosing a fabric to make your own salwar suit. Choose a colour that matches your skin tone to make the dress even more beautiful for you. If it's a wedding colour and you're buying fabric to sew a few dresses, make sure it matches the colour of the wedding theme. Buy fabric in broad daylight, not after sunset, when you go to a physical store. Artificial lighting can distort colours in some cases, so you need natural light to understand the true colours.
